Teleport Blocks allow Teachers and Students to instantly teleport from one location in the game world to another. This is useful for cutting down the time required for students to travel over long distances, or to stage them in specific areas.
When you first place a Teleport Block, you will immediately be prompted to give the block a name. Type in the name and click “Save” to continue.
After you name the station, the Teleport Block Edit Menu will appear (you can also bring this menu up by right-clicking on a Teleport Block you’ve already placed in the world). From this menu, you can rename the current Teleport Block by clicking on “Rename”, instantly teleport to any other station by clicking on its name, or check more in-depth options by clicking on “Settings.” Use the Up and Down Arrow Buttons to scroll if there more stations available than are displayed.
In the example below, a Student interacting with Station Epsilon will be able to teleport to Station Alpha and Station Delta (eye is open), but NOT Station Beta (eye is closed).
When you click on the “Settings” Button, you will be able to fine-tune exactly where players appear when they appear at a Teleport Block, as well as quick-toggle whether or not all stations are accessible from this one by default. In the example below, players will appear 3 blocks South of the Teleport Block when they appear there.
This is what a Student sees when they Right-Click on a Teleport Block. Along with having considerably less options, note how the stations available to the student match up with the ones that had the open eye in the above example.
The ability to specify where a Teleport Block makes someone appear can be used to hide blocks you don’t want Students to see or to prevent them from trying to access it again. In the example below, users will appear three blocks to the right of this Teleport Block when sent here, so they will appear on the stone platform and never see the Teleport Block hiding behind the wall.
If a Teleport Block can only teleport to one other block (i.e. only one eye is open on the Edit Menu), it will automatically teleport anyone who stands on top of it. This makes them able placed in the floor to act as passive teleporter. In the example below, the only Teleport Block the one in the ground can teleport to is the one a short distance away, so walking over it will teleport a user there instantly.
While logged in as a Teacher, you can teleport freely to any Teleport Block at any time simply by opening the Teacher Menu and selecting the “Stations” tab (the picture of the house).
